Let us look at the best bones for dog teeth cleaning. There are so many ways dog owners can get their dog’s teeth clean, and one of them is getting them dog bones to help clean their teeth whenever they chew on them.

I have searched for a good chew bone that my dogs can chew on, but I find it very difficult to see one, But am glad I found some.

In this article, I shall be listing out the best bones for dog teeth cleaning.

Best Bones for Dog Teeth Cleaning

Below are some of the best bones that can help with the cleaning of your dog teeth.

They include;

1. Zuke’s Mini Z-Bone Grain-Free Dental Chew Dog Treats

My dogs love the Zuke’s Mini Z-Bone Grain-Free Dental Chew Dog Treats. My dogs are 9 and 17 pounds, and the size is perfect. It doesn’t matter whether they have the apple or carrot.

I will typically buy whichever one is cheaper – and will typically buy several bags. So, I basically have a supply at all times.

The really nice thing is that my older dog had 13 teeth removed (it’s a long story). But I want her to eat something other than soft treats to keep her teeth healthy.

She chews through these just fine.

As a matter of fact, I had one of these in my pocket to take a photo for this review. My one pooch is at my side and keeps trying to get in my pocket!!! She probably thanks you now because I had to give her the treat (see photo). The other nice thing about these treats is that they are made in the good old USA.

They are definitely pet-pleasers, and you can feel good about giving them something healthy, And; they are easy enough for toothless pups too!!! ūüôā

What I love about this Chew Bone

As a proud pet parent of a six-pound Yorkie, I try to provide her with the healthiest possible food and treats – preferably products made in the United States, given the recent issues with pet food and toys made in China and other countries.

The little one LOVES these Z-Bones (Apple Crisp is her favorite, though she also enjoys the Cherry flavor), and they’re the perfect size for her to chew on. They usually provide her with 20 minutes of quality chew time and are GREAT for improving her breath. They’re easy for her to digest, as well.

One word of caution, which applies with ANY dog treats or bones: supervise your pet! When they get to the end of these things, that little piece is just big enough to get lodged in their throat if you’re not watching them!

Overall: a great, healthy product made in the U.S.! Your dog won’t be disappointed!

Possible downsides

“The Boyz” (a 90 lb. lab and a 70 lb. Shepard mix) LOVE these! I often give them as a Sunday Treat! They are rather expensive, so the guys don’t get them often, but they are very well received when they do. All of the Zukes products we have tried are very good; the boyz really like them; overall, they are great quality products.

2. Dog Chew Toys for Aggressive Chewers

I have about five (5) Great Danes, French bulldogs, Shih Tzu, and a Doberman pincher that are DEATH to almost all the chew toys I bring home.

But THIS chew toy? They specifically LOVE this toy, and it’s lasting beautifully!

My wife actually put small treats in the sides with the zig-zag cutout, and the dogs spend hours trying to get them out.

They’ve chewed the liver out of this toy, and it’s still looking good.

This thing is very durable and very sturdy.

Plus, it’s the first toy they get out of their toy box.

In fact, my French bulldog and Great Dane both liked the original toy so much my wife had to get a second one!

What I love about this Chew Bone

This chew toy seems very durable.

We’ll see how long it actually lasts but so far, so good!

After reading the rating of other chew devices, I chose this chew, and it is great.

My dog has very sharp teeth and a powerful bite.

He has not been able to get one piece off of it yet.

It is a heavy, dense material.

I love that I can put peanut butter on its sides and then freeze it for extra playtime.

Possible downsides

None so far- I have had this chew bone for over ten (10) months now.

4. Dog Toys for Aggressive Chewers

This is one indestructible chew toy.

I have lots of dogs that are very aggressive chewer; they destroy everything in minutes.

If a toy says indestructible, they take that as a challenge and figure out how to rip it apart.

This toy has proven to be up to the challenge.

They have tried but failed to destroy this toy.

It truly is indestructible. It is lightweight and does not mark the walls.

Features of this Chew Toy

  • This toy is almost indestructible.
  • Made of strong, upgraded ad extremely durable rubber, these dog toys are long-lasting and provide months of tooth brushing and play.
  • A squeaky dog chews toy that is absolutely the best Christmas gift for dogs.
  • Safe to chew-¬† Made of premium food-grade rubber, as safe as a baby pacifier,
  • No bitter taste or strong smell. The smell of the toy is a light milk coconut scent; it smells perfect.
  • Great for Chase and Fetch games.
  • It comes in n attractive design- Popular shape and aligned bristles make the dog toy more attractive and effective.¬†
  • Helps in brushing your dog’s teeth by themselves – After adding toothpaste(one that is safe for dogs) or favorite food in the mouth of the dog toothbrush, your dog can hold the anti-slip strips with paws and brush their own teeth, freshen breath.
  • Affordable
  • Value for money

What I love about this Chew Toy

I was so thrilled that my dogs loved the chew toy so much.

Most of the toys are goners within the first few days of play.

This one is still going.- It is almost eleven (11) months now.

One of them does not like to have you brush her teeth, but this chew toy helps clean them as she has fun.

What I do not like about this Chew Toys

So far, no issues at all! Even my 55-pound dog loves to destroy her toys. -That’s actually her hobby.

She actually gets frustrated with it because she couldn’t tear it up.

The toy’s rubber is very thick, so it will definitely last for a very long time.

However, she’ll only pay attention to this toy if it was filled with a treat or peanut butter.

Overall, this is a good product!

Frequently Asked Question

Here are some of the frequently asked questions from dog owners.

1.  How do I know if the ingredients in the zukes are now brought in from china (see review below) since nestle Purina bought zukes?

No, they are definitely not. From their website, it says, “Our dog treats contain only the highest quality, wholefood ingredients we can find. You can trust that every ingredient we use is good for your dog and never sourced from China. Please visit our Ingredients webpage and select each ingredient.”¬†

2. Has it helped anyone’s dogs with mild tartar build-up? Thanks!

No. Raw carrots will help, and quitting kibble will get rid of tartar.

3. Do you know how many calories per snack?

They didn’t say how many calories. I know it’s low due to it a healthy gluten-free made in America snack that my dogs have had and loved..the analysis is.

4. Is this a good size treat for a 65lb golden retriever?

I’ve got 60-70 lbs dogs. You could start with the small size and if you think it’s not enough, go up to the 2 oz. Size.

5. What are the lengths of the mini and regular size Z-bones?

Mini is about 3 inches, maybe a little more. I never bought a regular, so I don’t know.
Also, Blue Buffalo makes bones that I just got on Amazon, and they’re healthy & my dog loves them.

6. How many in the bag for the first chew listed?

18 in the bag

7. Do these chews actually remove plaque?

I really doubt chew snacks will.
It doesn’t take my dog long to finish one of these off.
I would think a longer-lasting chew would help with tartar.

8. Are these acceptable for a dog that has missing teeth? My 10 lb 12 yr old dog needs to chew more. I don’t want something she can go thru in 2 secs.

They are pretty hard. I have a 14-year-old lab who won’t touch them, opting instead for a slim Jim-like treat.
My 12-year-old small breed burns through one in 5 mins.

9. How big is each one (how long) in the 8-pack?

For the “regular” size bone found in the 8-pack, each bone is approximately three and a half inches long.

10. How would one rate these treats for helping bad breath?

They’re more effective than most dental chews, and my 15# Lhasa Apso loves them.
I also give him ‚ÄúBreath-Less, Brushless Toothpaste‚ÄĚ chews which I cut in half, and he likes these as well.
I would recommend them.

11. As one of the companies cited above has been sold, are the bones in the new packaging the same formula as the originals with “zuke” on the package?

They did remove tapioca from the ingredients and renamed “potato flour” to “ground potatoes.” Other than that, it’s the same made-in-the-USA Z-bone!
